Andre Kertesz

Andre Kertesz was an influential photographer on photojournalism and also photography as an art form. He was born in 1894 to a middle class Hungarian family and when he was drafted into the army, he brought his camera with him. He eventually moved to the United States in 1936 where his career really took off.
His pictures are a bit strange. A lot of his work features distorted nudes, whether they are stretched or compressed, and they are extremely interesting. Below are some of his photographs.

I love this image. The broken glass adds such an interesting effect to the image, almost like a filter.

The composition of this image is outstanding. I love the way that you can see the shadows from the railings on the stairs. The person in the background also makes this image very appealing.

I love this image because of the way that the body looks under the water. The light shining through the ripples in the water make it exciting, and I like how the body looks a bit distorted because of it.
